About DASHK12
I'm Keith Regester, MBA, founder of DASHK12 and a Career and Technical Education teacher who understands exactly what it's like to make the leap from industry to the classroom.
Like many of you, I didn't start my career in education. I came from the business world, bringing real-world experience and industry expertise into my teaching. And like many industry professionals who become CTE teachers, I quickly discovered that knowing your subject matter and actually teaching it are two very different things.
That gap—between being an expert in your field and being an effective educator—is why I created DASHK12.
Why I Built This
I founded DASHK12 because I saw talented professionals struggle unnecessarily during their transition to teaching. I watched skilled tradespeople, healthcare workers, and business experts walk into classrooms full of potential but without the pedagogical foundation they needed to thrive. Too many left the profession within their first few years, not because they couldn't teach, but because they weren't given the right support from the start.
I knew there had to be a better way.
Who I Serve
Through our flagship course, The Ultimate Guide to Teaching CTE, I work with three key groups:
Industry professionals who are transitioning into CTE teaching roles and need practical, actionable guidance on classroom management, lesson planning, and navigating the Texas education system.
School districts across Texas who want to retain their CTE teachers and reduce costly turnover by providing meaningful onboarding support without straining their internal resources.
CTE administrators and department heads who are looking for structured resources to help mentor and support their new teachers, allowing them to focus on program leadership.
My Mission
My goal is simple: help industry professionals become confident, effective CTE teachers from day one. When teachers succeed, students thrive, programs grow stronger, and districts build sustainable CTE departments that actually retain talent.
I've been where you are. I know the challenges you're facing. And I'm here to help you not just survive your transition to teaching—but truly succeed in it.
Let's build the future of CTE education in Texas together.
